English: Our quality text will be ‘The Egyptian Cinderella’. We will be writing our own version of a traditional tale with an Egyptian twist. We will continue to build on our knowledge of expanded noun phrases, similes and fronted adverbials and also develop our understanding of inverted commas. We will be reading a variety of traditional tales to support our writing and will focus on our RE topic about inspirational figures.
Geography: This area of the curriculum is covered in Spring 1 & 2. We will use maps to locate Egypt linked to our theme about Ancient Egypt.
Maths: This half term we will learn about… Multiplication and Division - Multiples of 3, 6, 9, 7, 11, 12 - Multiplying and dividing by 1 and 0 - Factor pairs - Formal written methods of multiplication and division We will continue to revise previous times tables through our TT Rockstars sessions.
History: We will study the Ancient Egyptians and how artefacts and discoveries have led to developing our understanding of this period in history. We will learn about life in Ancient Egypt, mummification and the worship of gods and goddesses.
Year 4 Autumn Half-term 2: ‘Pictures in Time’
Science: Sound We will identify how sounds are made and understand that vibrations travel through a medium to the ear. We will be investigating patterns between volumes of sounds and the vibrations that produced it. We will also consider how sound can change with distance from the source.
