Personal, Social & Emotional Development: To talk about the different feelings and emotions as the children begin to settle in to Nursery. To support the children grow in confidence to leave their carers and enjoy their nursery experiences.
Maths: Learning how we can match shapes and objects using colour, size and shape. The children will sing simple math songs to practise their counting.
Physical Development: Spending time outdoors using the balance bikes and scooters to develop gross motor skills through moving and playing outdoors. Practice throwing and catching using beanbags and soft balls. West Lancashire Coaches take PE twice a week. Literacy: We will enjoy sharing multiple books daily, including The Colour Monster and The Little Red Hen. The children will be introduced to the different parts of a book and how we hold and use them. We will use listening games to develop the children’s listening skills and using their own voices to replicate sounds.
Nursery Autumn 1: All about me Communication & Language: Children to spend time in smaller key worker groups to develop their confidence to talk with adults and friends. Encouraging them to talk about their families as well as listen to stories and talk about them.
Understanding the world: The children will bake on a regular basis, including bread linked to The Little Red Hen. We will explore the ingredients and how they change. Expressive Arts: Small world and role play areas are available at all times. Adults will model and support children as they explore these areas. Children will be encouraged to join in with a range of actions and rhyme songs and various craft activities.
RE: The children will explore the importance of friendship and kindness.
