We have enjoyed a week of great weather and lots of exciting events at Churchtown this week. On Tuesday and Wednesday our year 4 classes visited the Beatles Story in Liverpool as part of their theme work, this was a fun and enjoyable visit had by all. Year 2 received an exciting letter from 10 Downing Street after writing to the Prime Minister about important environmental issues. We are so proud that our young people are so passionate about this.

We look forward to welcoming our new nursery and reception parents on Wednesday next week. This is a great opportunity for you to be welcomed into school and to meet the team.

Next week also includes many exciting events including sports competitions and the graduation ceremony for our Children’s University graduates at Edge Hill.

Have a great weekend and safely enjoy the warm weather.

Tom J from Year 6 decided that he wanted to raise money for Alder Hey Children’s Charity. He chose to do this through a Star Wars themed raffle. He proudly presented his Star Wars fundraising money to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital charity during our Year 5 and Year 6 assembly. Sarah Bennett, Community Fundraiser for Alder Hey Children’s Charity, came into school and spoke to the children about the great work that the hospital does in supporting over 900 children a day at the hospital.

Well done Tom for all your hard work and for the effort that you put into this for a fantastic Charity!
