RECOGNISING YOUR EFFORT

At CHS South we really want you to do well and we value all efforts. When you achieve something, your success is the best reward

We also have achievement points to celebrate your efforts that you have made whilst you are in school, such as:

When you are working well and are focused in class, the teacher or teaching assistant can give you a Ready point

If you continue to do well, you may receive a Recognition point. This means you will get a praise post card or your parents will get a praise phone call If your work and effort in class is outstanding, you may be chosen to be the class champion. The class champion gets a personal post card.

All achievement points are added up and if you do well, you will earn a reward at the end of the school year Alternatively, if your behaviour is not what we expect, you will receive a consequence

However, you do not need to worry about consequences if you follow our three school rules:

BE READY BE SAFE

BE RESPECTFUL

BE READY can mean that you bring your equipment to school.

BE RESPECTFUL can mean that you listen to the teacher and respect your classmates.

BE SAFE can mean that you do not run on the stairs and are sensible in the corridors

We have these rules because they will help you to learn best at CHS South. We will talk more about what these rules mean in your first weeks at your new school

BADGES AND CHAMPIONS ASSEMBLY

Every term you can earn a badge to put on your blazer. In the first half of autumn term, the badge is called “I embrace life and prepare to succeed”. If your teachers and teaching assistants can see that you are doing your best, you will receive this badge and you can show it off on your blazer! For the second half of autumn term, the badge is called “I support my community and make a difference to it”.

This is what the badges look like:

At the end of each term, we have a Champions Assembly.

Here, students can receive an award for one of our school values: Motivation, Resiliency, Practice, Responsibility, Reflection, Optimism, Creativity, Curiosity, Empathy

For example, if you have worked hard and not given up, even though the work was difficult, you could be nominated for the resiliency award.
