Start of the Day - doors will open each day from 8:55am with lessons starting at 9am.
End of the day – We will bring the children out to you on the playground at 3.30pm and hand them over into your care. Please let your child’s class teacher know if there are any changes to your child being collected.
If you would like to speak to us about anything in particular, it might be best to wait until we have seen all of the other children safely to their parents/carers and then speak to us at the end. Please feel free to share with us anything of importance during drop off in the morning too. You can also contact us via our messaging service on ClassDojo.
Thank you for your help and patience with this until everyone settles in!
P.E
P.E will take place every Friday morning. Children will need to have a fully named P.E kit in school, which is to stay in school for the half term. Our school PE kit is fine for now and we may just ask for a pair of plain, dark coloured jogging pants/leggings and a hoody to be brought in as and when we do any outdoor P.E.
On this day please can you make sure hair is tied back and earrings are removed. It is also easier for the girls to wear skirts rather than pinafores on this day.
Thank you.

Reading Books
Later this term, children will be given Reading Records and reading books. These will need to be in school each day.
There will not be set days for changing them as they will be changed when your child has had enough time to read and understand them.
These records also serve as a useful way of communicating between home and school. Please read and sign the Home-School Agreement inside.
Letter/sound flashcards and words to learn will be sent home for your child to practise and learn. We will set reading homework as the term progresses on our ClassDojo.
Homework
Homework will be practical, talk based activities. You will be able to find details of these through our ClassDojo.
The children will also be given phonics based activities to learn or practise and homework related to our topics as and when we cover them.
Later on in the year, when they have developed their writing skills they will bring a news writing book home. More details will follow nearer the time.
Snack Time
Please note that we are a healthy school and we want to promote a healthy diet and lifestyle. We ask that the only snacks that are brought into school are just those consisting of just fruit or vegetables.
Please refrain from sending in any other snacks such as cake bars, biscuits, cheese strings, yoghurts, fruit winders or dippers and so on.
We also ask that just water is sent in for their drink.
Due to serious allergies, we do ask that no nuts or food products containing nuts are brought into school for snacks or in packed lunches.
Milk - children are entitled to free school milk until the term AFTER they turn five. You still need to register for this and details can be found at www.coolmilk.co.uk. You still need to register for this even if your child is entitled to free milk because they are still 4 years old.
School Bags
We ask that each child has a school blue book bag. These bags are easy as names are clearly identifiable and are a suitable size. If your child needs spare uniform or enjoys learning outside spare uniform can be brought in their blue book bags.
Pencil cases are not needed.
Medicines
If your child is on a medicine which needs to be administered in school, please complete the appropriate form from the school office, in order for us to be able to administer it.
Inhalers- if your child needs an inhaler, you will need to fill out an updated form from the school office and will need to have appropriate spacers and inhalers in school at all times.
Outdoor Learning
Please provide your child with appropriate outdoor wear for the weather.
Outdoor learning happens all year round, so please send in whatever the weather requires, for example, wellies, puddle suits, hats and gloves or sun hats and sun cream.
Tights and socks tend to get wet during the winter months, so please put a spare pair in their book bag.
It is important for all clothing items to be clearly named
Trips and visits
We plan to do a number of educational visits and trips over the coming year and will be letting you know nearer the time of the exact costs and further details. We ask that trips are paid for using the school’s Parent Pay system and will give further details of this nearer the time.
Educational visits may have to be cancelled if we do not receive sufficient funds to cover their cost at the time of organisation.
