Half Term 5 Curriculum Plan Play study: Phillip Pullman's play script adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein Students will read this adapted play focusing closely on the historical context of Frankenstein the novel, and the features of a playscript. Novel study: George Orwell’s Animal Farm Students will read Orwell’s seminal novel focusing closely on its historical context. Play study: William Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ Students will study one of Shakespeare’s most famous tragedies focusing closely on plot and characterisation. GCSE English Literature- Modern drama Students will study J.B Priestley’s play, ‘An Inspector Calls’. GCSE English Language- Transactional writing and Spoken Language preparation Students will study how to plan, write and proof-read: letters, speeches, articles, leaflets and essays. They will also deliver a speech on a topic of their choice as part of the spoken language component. GCSE English LiteratureRevision of set texts, assessment preparation and completion. GCSE English LanguageAssessment Preparation and completion.

Half Term 5 Curriculum Plan Acids and Alkalis: .acids and alkalis, indicators, neutralisation including formative assessment. Cells and Organisms: healthy diet, food tests, digestion and enzymes including formative assessment, Lungs and respiration, the effects of smoking, heart and circulation ,CHD. Chemical reactions: compounds, chemical formula and symbol equations including formative assessment, testing for gases,conservation of mass , combustion. Acids and Alkalis: .acids and alkalis, indicators, neutralisation including formative assessment.
