Half Term 3 Curriculum Plan War fiction- creative reading and writing Students will read a range of fiction and non-fiction texts, all linked though the theme of war. This will lead to students writing their own pieces of war-inspired writing with plenty of opportunities to work on spelling, punctuation and grammar. Poetry study Students will read and analyse a wide range of poetry across different genres, styles and time periods, allowing some opportunities to create their own poems. Non-fiction reading & writing Students will read a wide range of non- fiction texts about different conflicts through time. These texts will provide inspiration for students’ own writing of letters, speeches and essays. GCSE English Literature- AQA Poetry anthology Students will study a range of poetry from the 18th century to present day all within the theme of ‘power and conflict’. GCSE English Language-Creative writing Students will develop their descriptive and narrative writing skills. GCSE English Literature- Revision of poetry & ‘An Inspector Calls’ Students will focus on exam practice and skills for these two set texts. GCSE English Language- Paper 1 Revision Students will revise their ability to analyse and evaluate fiction texts.

Inheritance & Evolution: Variation and genetics, the fossil record, evolution by natural selection and extinction. Electricity & Magnetism: Electric circuits, current, voltage, resistance, static electricity and electric fields. Magnets and magnetic fields, electromagnets and their uses.
