Work Hard • Be Well • Do Well
At Bramcote College 6th Form our strength is our size; we often say that we are ‘small but mighty’ and believe that this is a perfect fit for the students who come to us for Years 12 and 13. We welcome students from a broad range of secondary schools, as well as a small number of overseas students each year.
We believe in ensuring students are studying the right courses to not only enjoy a full two years of study at BC6F but also to open doors to their future.
Our students get the encouragement and guidance they need to progress well in their studies and be ambitious about their plans. BC6F Students have gone on to a diverse set of destinations such as going to the universities of Cambridge, Durham, Leeds, Nottingham etc. as well as taking on apprenticeships with Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Unilever and Derbyshire Police.

In the Sixth-Form staff challenge students to think deeply. OFSTED 2024
Our ethos of ‘Work Hard, Do Well, Be Well’ focuses on the importance of Students doing their best to achieve their goals but not at the expense of their wellbeing. We support and encourage our Students and recognise that as they progress from being Year 11s into 6th Form students and then going on to leave us a young adults, what they need from us in College changes too.
With this in mind, while we have enjoyed year on year improvements in our exam results, with 2025 seeing our best ever, placing us alongside some of the strongest 6th Forms in Nottinghamshire, we also know that each student is an individualand needs personalised support and guidance to achieve what they need to allow them to move on.
We work hard to ensure that our students not only get the grades they need to get ‘there’ but that they will also be happy once they are ‘there’.
At BC6F we take pride in being ‘small but mighty’ with small classesdelivering a personalised experience which means that Students achieve their personal bestswith us.

At BC6F we offer as diverse a range of courses as our size allows us to, which often means our classes are small; we rarely go over 16 in a class and a more average size class is between 6 and 10, with our smallest classes dropping to just 4 students. While our size is our strength, because it allows us to offer small teaching groups, it does also limit the number of courses that we can offer, which means we recognise that BC6F might not be the right place for everyone. We believe firmly in the right courses for each student to ensure that they will be able to complete the full two year course and achieve outcomes that will allow them to progress to the next stage in their lives, be that university, apprenticeships or work. All students are expected to select three courses; this couldbe all A Levels, all Level 3 BTECs or a combination of the two.

You may be aware that we have a greatly anticipated new build planned. While the planning process has been exceptionally slow, we have finally started the building process and anticipate moving into the new building in 2027.
While we have made the most of our time in our current building, we are very much looking forward to moving into a building designed and built to provide the best possible facilities for a 21st Century education, as well as providinga range of community facilities for use outside College hours.
6th Form facilities will include a dedicated Common Room and workspace, as well as tutorial rooms around the school designed to accommodate our smaller A Level groups.
