The feasibility report is created during the initiation phase. Describe the contents of the feasibility report.

LO1 Understand the tools and techniques that can be used to initiate and plan solutions Planning phase 1. Project plans will be created during the planning phase. What should be included in the project plans?

These show tasks, time, resources, milestones, end date Tasks may be able to be linked Which type of plans will depend on the type of product being created 2. Why might test plans be created during the planning phase?

Will mainly be concerned with the testing of the user requirements Depending on the type of product, further tests could be planned.

3. What is the purpose of the constraints list?

Created from the client defined requirements – initiation phase This should be very detailed It is referred to throughout the project to make sure the requirements are being met.

4. A phase review happens at the end of the planning phase. Describe what happens in the phase review for the planning phase.

Considers the project plan, test plans and constraints list These are checked for any omissions/issues If omissions/issues are found the phase has to be repeated The project plan, test plans and constraints list are checked by the client If all is well, the project can move to the execution phase.

Execution phase 1. During the execution phase the deliverable product is created. Why should the constraints list be referred to when the product is being created? to make sure the creation process goes smoothly 2. What happens if a test carried out on the product fails to provide the expected result?

LO1 Understand the tools and techniques that can be used to initiate and plan solutions Evaluation phase 1. During the evaluation phase, user documentation is created. Identify and describe one type of user documentation that could be created when the product is an interactive presentation.

List or Reference​:​ one in which commands or tasks are simply listed alphabetically or logically grouped, often via cross-referenced indexes. This latter approach is of greater use to advanced users who know exactly what sort of information they are looking for.

2. What tasks have to be completed during the evaluation phase before the product can be released to the client? he product is checked against client defined requirements and constraints list It will be installed on the client’s system and undergo user testing When all is well the product will be released to the client who can start to use it.

3. What happens during the final evaluation?

Measure success against criteria/objectives Review deviations from original plans including whether or not the project delivered the final product to the client on schedule Evaluate the effect of processes and resources on delivering solutions, e.g. software selected, tools and techniques used, compatibility between software and systems Assess the maintainability, e.g. further development of the system, adoption of emerging technologies, adapting to a changed environment.
