Dear Parents/Carers, Wow! I can’t believe we’ve come to the end of another very busy, intense but amazing term at Bishop Martin! We’ve achieved SO much this term and I’ve never been prouder to be Headteacher of such an incredible school community. I wanted to first say a huge thank you to all of you for helping to make Bishop Martin the truly special place it is. This term we’ve been able to keep ALL classes open every day as we’ve continued to deal with the challenges COVID restrictions have presented. Not all schools have managed this and at different times they have had to send whole classes or even key stages home. So the fact I have been able to keep Bishop Martin fully open all term is testament to the dedication of the staff team here and the partnership we have with you all. I think it is something we can all celebrate as we try to provide your children with the best possible education. I’ve been so happy that we’ve also been able to welcome parents back more and more into school life in person as well! Parents’ Evenings and our weekly Praise Assemblies are the two main areas where we’ve been able to bring parents back into school (as it was pre-COVID). I was able to spend some time at the Nursery ‘stay and play’ this week too with the parents and that was absolutely wonderful so thank you again! Next term, the plan is to bring all the children back together for the weekly Praise Assembly and remove the restriction of just one adult attending. I will write with more details of this after Easter. Oh…and we also, had the small matter of Ofsted who visited us in January and gave the school huge praise for the work we are doing here so he have that to celebrate too! We don’t ever stop trying to improve though and we have already started working on the two areas we have been given by Ofsted to make the school even better. So on behalf of the team here I would like to wish you and your family a wonderful, happy Easter break and we hope to see you all back safe and sound on Tuesday 19th April.
