End of the Academic Year

This has been a verybusy year at Bishop Martin. We have finally moved away from any restrictions enjoying trips and residentials. The children have worked incredibly hard, taking national testing in their strides and applying themselves well to their learning. Behind all this is our staff team, including the adults who work in school and our Governing Body, who are fully committed to the children and work incredibly hard to support them. We know that underpinning everything is the support the children and staff get from you as parents. This is what makes our Bishop Martin Family so unique and a truly special place to be.

LDST

This term, our Worship Group attended LDST’s Ethos Day and joined with the other schools that form the trust. As a whole school we joined in the collective worship at the start of this day via zoom. Since then, many of our staff have attended training and met with staff already in LDST. We look forward to joining the trust from the 1st November 2023.

Sad Farewells

We are saying sad goodbyes this summer to our wonderful Year 6 who have been an incredible group of pupils all through their time at Bishop Martin. Their SATs results were incredible which is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to their incredible talents. We are certain they will continue to shine brightly in High School and beyond. They will be very much missed.

We also say a sad goodbye to Mrs Woodcock who has been part of Bishop Martin since 1988. In worship this morning, we thanked her for over three decades of service to our Bishop Martin family. We wish her a very happy retirement! Mrs Breheny is also leaving us to relocate to Cumbria. We wish her every happiness in her new home. Mrs Harrison has left to take up a new position in a Nursery which we hope she loves. Mr Critchley’s contract has come to anend and we wish him the best of luck in his next chapter. Finally, we send our best wishes to Miss L. Johnson and Miss Richardsonwho are leaving – temporarily – to have babies.

New Beginnings!

In September, we will be welcoming two ‘ new’ teachers to the school! Miss Noon returns from having her beautiful daughter and will be taking Tigers Class. Miss Humphries – who covered Miss Noon’s maternity - leave in Giraffes Class has successfully been appointed to cover Miss Johnson’s maternity leave and will be following her class through to Koalas. We are blessed to have them both.

And finally,

We wish you all a very peaceful and relaxing summer. We hope you are able to spend time with those you cherish and we look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday 5th September when we will focus on the coming year as we continue to learn together and grow in faith.

Many thanks for your continuing support
