19 March 2020 Dear Parents/Carers, I understand how difficult it must be waiting for concrete information about school opening/arrangements next week. Please be assured I am working flat out to get accurate, reliable information to you as soon as possible. As of this lunchtime I am still waiting for the Government to provide schools with the definition of ‘Key Worker’ and ‘Vulnerable Children’. These will be the ONLY two categories where children will be able to attend school from Monday. Once this has been given we will be sending one of three pieces of communication to you: 1. Your child doesn’t fall under the definition of ‘Vulnerable’ and your current job is not defined as ‘Key Worker’ so your child CANNOT attend school from Monday, under the Government’s school closure policy announced yesterday. 2. Your current job falls under the ‘Key Worker’ definition and therefore you CAN access school provision from Monday, should you require it 3. Your child falls under the ‘Vulnerable’ category and is therefore EXPECTED to attend to school on Monday We are still waiting on the government to inform us if Free School Meal pupils will be classed as ‘Vulnerable’ and therefore expected to attend school on Monday. We will let you know as soon as this is made clear. If this is not the case I will be letting you know the provision being put in place to access food from the home setting. I can inform you all that Breakfast Club and After School Club Provision will cease for all families from Monday due to staffing limitations and school will run from 8:40-3:10pm for all children who fall under the ‘Key Worker’ or ‘Vulnerable Child’ categories.
