Dear Parents/Carers, Last night the Government announced another National Lockdown (to be reviewed at February halfterm) which means Bishop Martin is now only open to Key Worker/Vulnerable pupils. The link below shows what qualifies as Vulnerable/Key Worker. Please Note: if you wish your child to attend school under the key worker category your employer MUST provide you with a letter stating you are that you can then provide to school. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educationalprovision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision Remote Learning I am so impressed that so many parents have been in touch this morning asking about the online teaching content on Microsoft Teams and that your children are logged in and ready! This is fantastic and thank you. I’m sure you can appreciate that as a school, we only found out about the Lockdown at 8pm last night when you did as parents. The teachers are all working hard today and tomorrow to shift their planning and teaching content online to Teams and this will be getting uploaded over the next 48 hours. In the meantime you can use the Generic Remote Learning section of the school website to access educational tools: https://www.bishopmartin.lancs.sch.uk/Curriculum/remote-learning If you require your child’s login for TTRS, Bug Club or IDL please email office@bishopmartin.lancs.sch.uk or telephone the office. The school will be making up stationary packs (pens/pencils/exercise books/resources etc) this week which we will distribute to you all with everything your child will need to complete the work the teacher sets on Teams. Please bear with us though over the next couple of days as this was only announced late last night and we are working to get everything uploaded for you. If anyone is struggling to access their child’s school account on Microsoft Teams, please contact the school office and they will assist you. If you have issues over not having appropriate devices or mobile data we can also support you in those areas as well but we do need to know as a school so please get in touch. The teachers can monitor which children have activated their account. Therefore later this week we will be contacting families directly if there are children’s accounts that haven’t yet been activated. Many thanks for your ongoing support
