Dear Parents/Carers, Today Bishop Martin CE Primary School re-opened for the Spring Term, as the advice from the Government instructed us to do over the weekend. This evening the Prime Minister has announced that National Lockdown measures have been re-introduced from midnight tonight. This means that from tomorrow Tuesday 5th January, Bishop Martin will again only be open for Key Worker and Vulnerable families. The list of which jobs qualify as Key Workers is in the link below if you are not sure. Critical workers and vulnerable children who can access schools or educational settings GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) This situation will be reviewed by the Government at the February Half-term (as announced by the Prime Minister this evening). For all pupils remaining at home, Remote Learning will begin again this week. The school invested huge time and resources in setting up all pupils, with school logins, on ‘Microsoft Teams’ before Christmas (and loaded the Christmas production onto it so that you could get your child set up on Microsoft Teams with their school account). This will be the main method by which we deliver Remote Teaching and Learning during this Lockdown period. If you are struggling to access Microsoft Teams or have issues around access to devices or Wi-fi, then please contact school tomorrow as there is now far more capacity to support families who require additional devices/support to access Remote Learning than previously. I will write again with more details tomorrow about how we will be supporting you and your children as a school through this next period of Lockdown but for now it is essential that you all follow the new guidance which is that ONLY Key Worker/Vulnerable pupils will be able to attend school from tomorrow.
