• Learn the Makaton signs for ‘house’, rooms in the house and things around the house.
• Join in with songs about houses and homes using words, actions and signs.
• Build houses from a range of construction kits.
• Explore sensory building trays such as kinetic sand, blocks and foam and natural resources.
• Make drawings and paintings of houses.
• Make towns with blocks and map rug.
School Library Service visit for a Sensory Story.
• Use Google maps and Google earth to look at streets in our area.

What are we reading?
The Library are coming!
Each half term the Library are coming to visit us in The Hive. They are going to bring sensory stories to share with us.
We are learning about house and homes. We can spot the different features of houses, such as the roof and doors!
Our big question for Autumn 1 is ‘Is my house like your house?’ our learning activities will help us answer this! We can play search and find games. E.g., find the house with the orange door.
What an exciting activity. Our first visit is in a couple of week! Look out for photos on Class Dojo. Our sensory den! We are extremely lucky to have our own sensory den in the Hive.
There are lights, mirrors and lots of sensory toys to explore. We love using it to regulate and relax.

Dough disco!
Everyday the children and adults join in with a Dough disco session. Dough disco allows us to dance and sing whilst using playdough to strengthen our fingers and hands for writing and mark making. It is so much fun!
