Ideas: See White Rose Home Learning – Year 1 Home / Home Learning / Home Learning – Year 1 Week 1 (flashback 4) Why not extend your shopping activity from last week and include some Easter treats into your weighing and measuring. Why not try filling a variety of different boxes/containers with items from the house or garden. What is the most items you can fit in a matchbox? How about a bit of tidy up maths: Try sorting and ordering the toy box, making labels and counting.

Talk about how the chameleon was feeling, what was his life like? What do they think will happen next? Record ideas in words and pictures or simply talk about it. Listen to the end of the story. Fold a piece of paper into 6 and in each space draw a picture to represent what happened in the story. Label: First, Next, Then, After that, Finally. Now retell your story using the pictures. Write the chameleons wishes as sentences eg. I wish I could…….. I wish I was……… Create your own mixed up chameleons by making pictures of a chameleon and different zoo animals and cutting up their head, body, legs, tails. Make animal jigsaws. What will you call your animal? If you have play dough make your animals from dough (simple play dough recipes online) Activities Choose from a selection of phonic games from phonics play. Watch video clips Mr Thorne does phonics Mr T’s Phonics You Tube (This includes internet safety message) Continue to work through flashcards, digraphs and trigraphs. Lots of video clips with Geraldine the Giraffe that the children love. ENJOY!
