The college has a proven track record of success and has consistently been ranked in the top 25% of colleges nationally over the past three years. Ashton Sixth Form College had previously maintained its Ofsted Good status for over 8 years but has continued to improve year on year providing exceptional opportunities for their students. Ofsted stated that “Students are extremely well supported by staff and their peers.

Pastoral and academic support is exceptional. Staff help students to achieve high grades and produce work to a consistently high standard”.

Support Students at Ashton Sixth Form College, experience high quality teaching that enables them to succeed.

Our students also have access to a wealth of support throughout their college journey. Senior Tutors, Careers Advisors, the Inclusive Learning team, College Counsellors, the Guidance Team, the multi-faith chaplaincy and more, create a network of people whose roles are to support students both academically and personally. Financial support may also be available through the college bursary and free college meals schemes. High achievers will join the Ashton XL programme, preparing our most able learners through specialist tutorials, mock interviews, the EPQ and tailored preparation programmes. Students on the XL programme apply to some of the best universities in the world including Oxford and Cambridge, on competitive courses such as Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary and more.

As well as gaining your qualifications, college is also a time to meet new people and develop new skills. While at college you will have access to countless opportunities. You will hear from a range of guest speakers who are leaders in their industry. No matter what career path you have in mind, you will have the chance to visit universities across the country on our Realising Aspirations programme or gain real-world experience with the help of our Work Placement team. Our sports teams bring together some of our most talented students to represent Team Ashton and our extensive enrichment offer means you could learn Sign Language, play Dungeons and Dragons, join Ukulele Club, learn to debate, or achieve the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.
