Outcome of project:

To accelerate the progress of Communication and Language development within Early Years. To close the attainment gap between disadvantaged/non-disadvantaged children. Development of harmonious, supportive and impactful relationships with parents/carers. Utilising/planning for progression and improvement through analysis of EYFSP data/on entry assessments.

3 Schools with the potential of increasing the numbers as needed.

Outline of project:

Initial Meeting: Schools that participate will be invited to visit the EYFS provision at St Gerard’s, observe practice and ask questions about the challenges that the school faces. The opportunity to look at data, contributions from parents, links with other nursery settings and involvement of other agencies will be provided. Schools will work closely with the Early Years Assistant Head teacher to develop a ‘Support Strategy Action Plan’ and areas for improvement. The schools that take part will have the opportunity to ‘team teach’ in their home setting with the EY Lead from St Gerard’s Support will be given face to face with St Gerard’s and keeping in touch days will be every half term to measure the impact/development in the action plan/support strategy written at the beginning of the project.
