ALPSIT NEWSLETTER Improving Our Schools Together

ALPSIT CHILDREN'S CONFERENCES WE NEED YOU!

Plans are coming together wonderfully for our series of Children's Conferences in June. We have a host of contributors ready to put on a wonderful selection of WoW workshops!

There's some great sponsorship that have come through from our ongoing partnerships, we're happy to say we are on track to put on at least 5 days worth of conferences and hope, with your help to put on some more.

KNOW ANY FAMOUS FOLK? Get in touch to see how they can help us inspire our children to aim high!

You will have all received the funding poster opposite to send to any businesses involved in your schools and of course if your budget allows you are able to fund your class' place on what will be a day to remember. if anyone knows of any famous people willing to send in a one minute vidoe to inspire the children please do get in touch with us straight away.

Events round-up

Children's Conference Steering Group As part of our children's conferences we put together a steering group made up of two children from 16 of our schools across our 8 areas.

The children were asked to help mould the content of each conference, from what they would like to learn about, what support they felt they needed and who would inspire them - queue a whole host of dead celebrities and "gamers", whatever they are? It's a good thing we asked them to guide us as our ideas were quickly flattened!

To be on the safe side we will be keeping in touch with the children via child safe social media platform Go Bubble to make sure we are on the right track.

'Let's Play' at The Empire

Kieron reminds us what conferences should be about.

6 ALPSIT schools were lucky enough to get involved with the 'Let's Play' Festival where they took to the stage to perform a series of small plays adapted especially for the festival. Take a look below at Sacred Heart in Warrington's performance. Just amazing!

Be the Change book and collection McCrimmons have offered all ALPSIT schools 10%off their new Be The Change Collection. Updates NATIONAL HUBS Support networks for core subjects in Maths, English and ICT

Our website now includes a section on the DfE National HUBS. Here you will find supporting advice and information on delivering these subjects in your school.

FACEBOOK SUBJECT LEAD GROUPS Do you have an amazing subject leader?

Would they like to support ALPSIT in providing content and discussions for our brand new subject specific online networks. You teacher will get support from us around planning online content and running a online group. We would only be looking for teachers to lead for max of one term then hand over the network to another if they want. We would like to start with three different subjects. If you know the perfect person could you please ask them to email k.rufo@rcaol.org.uk

We will also include work schemes that may be of interest.

Courses Available Community By Nature Level 3 Forest School Lead If your school is interested in training staff for a Level 3 certificate for Forest school leaders we have secured a pilot scheme for upto 12 delegates to join a taster session and/or to book directly onto a level 3 course.

NASENCO Course at Hope University Liverpool Hope University have confirmed our group discount rates for another year of the NANSENCO course.

An evaluation of module one can be found on our website with very positive outcomes. Module two starts this March.

As well as this termly newsletter you will receive a fortnightly bulletin with updated and new information as it comes to us. By now you may have noticed we have started to use Google Forms as a new way of gathering details for courses and to collect interest in new projects. We hope this system will help us track each schools involvement with the trust and build a better guide for future planning.
