The pupils gave their family and friends a whistle stop tour of the whole of their exciting first year in school! Thank you to all family and friends who attended and have helped the children to learn their parts and a big well done to all the pupils. YEAR 6 LEAVERS’ MASS - was on Wednesday at St. Oswald’s Church - thank to everyone who attended and well done to all the pupils. We wish them all the best as they move on to their new schools in September. WELL DONE WILLIAM TURNER - who entered a competition with Cubs to design a Manchester Bee. William’s wing design depicting the Manchester landscape was chosen as a winning design. The model bee has been made and is on display in Manchester Cathedral until September for anyone who would like to go and see it. Look out for pictures on twitter and the website next week. WET SPONGE CHALLENGE - this took place on Thursday afternoon. Classes 5 and 7 raised the most sponsor money and got to throw a wet sponge at their teacher and TAs. Mrs Grindley, Miss Silver, Mrs Smith, Mrs Catterall and Mrs Jackson were all thoroughly soaked as the pupils demonstrated their great throwing skills! Mr Goulding and Mrs Hassan somehow ended up a little wet too! Pictures are on twitter and the website. WIGAN ATHLETIC - are running a fun day on Monday where each class will have the opportunity to target shoot with an inflatable. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school. PERFORMING ARTS - the performing arts club presented Scheherezade to KS2 on Wednesday afternoon and to their family and friends on Thursday evening. Well done to all the pupils who have worked hard to put on a super show. YEAR 1 - visited Blackpool Zoo on Thursday. They thoroughly enjoyed learning about all the animals and their habitats and finding out answers to the questions they asked prior to their visit. REPORTS - came home yesterday. Please return all orange files and parent response forms on Monday. PARENT INTERVIEWS - are on Monday for Classes 6, 7, 8 and 9. They are on Tuesday for Classes 2, 3, 4 and 5 and on Thursday for Classes 10 and 11. SUMMER FAIR - Thank you very much for all your donations and support for the fair. We will update you next week with information about how much we have raised. All money will go to benefitting the pupils in school.
