Lomeshaye Life We have had a wonderful two weeks in school. Everyone has been showing how much they have progressed over the year and we have had some special visits and visitors. Read on to find out more. We have had an excellent week once again with our attendance. This week our whole school attendance figure is 97.9%, which beats our target. Two classes, 5 Beech and 3 Oak, also achieved 100%attendance this week. This is great news and a fantastic achievement, lets see if we can keep it up next week too! Year 3 Cave Visit - Last week our Year 3 pupils enjoyed a very warm visit to Ingleborough Caves in North Yorkshire. They went on this trip to help with their learning about rocks and how the earth is made in Science. The children had a great day out and had a wonderful experience of what life is like underground.

Superb Summer Fair— Last weeks summer fair was another roaring success. Thank you to everyone who came to share the event with us and to those who donated items for our various stalls. We have raised an outstanding £1,900 which will be used to support a worthy cause. Rights Respecting Schools Assessment— On Tuesday this week we were visited by a Rights Respecting Schools Assessor. She spent the morning with us to find out all about the wonderful work we have been doing this year learning about rights, learning through rights and learning for rights. She was so impressed with our work that she has awarded us the Rights Respecting Schools Silver Award, recognising that we are Rights Aware at Lomeshaye. This is a fantastic achievement and the assessor really commended us for how much has been done in such a short space of time and the difference it is making to the children. Year 6 Residential— Pupils in Year 6 had a fabulous 3 day residential at Whitehough outdoor education centre. They had lots of fun while also learning to be more independent and how to work as a team. (see the back of this letter for some pictures from their adventure.) School Dinners— Lancashire County Council are putting up the price of School Meals. From September 2018 they will cost £2.30 per day, which amounts to £11.50 per week. Any school uniform orders from now will not be delivered until September. Monday 9th—Sports Day at Seedhill from 10.00 to 12.15. Tuesday 10th— Year 6 Cinema Trip. Thursday 12th—5.30-7.30 Year 6 End of Year Prom Party.
