Friday 29th June Wednesday Word – FAITH Twitter - @saintoswalds THIS WEEK – During our Come and See sessions we have started our new topic - 'Our World'. The children have thought about what makes our world wonderful and have created pictures for our display. Within Literacy, we wrote about our favourite part of Sports day. In Maths, we have been using number lines to work out the missing number in subtraction facts. During the afternoon, the children have been making our items for our Summer Fair stall and we have been continuing with our End of year CEM assessments. The children also joined in with sports day and the teddy bear’s picnic. During our phonics sessions we have focussed on Mrs Gill’s and Mrs Hart’s group – phase 4 phonics where they have been reading and writing ccvc and cvcc words. We have recapped sounds from phase 3 and 4. Mrs Riding’s and Mrs Ryan’s group – phase 4 phonics where they have been reading and writing ccvc and cvcc words and the words – Miss Woolley’s group – recapping all phase 3 sounds and words. NEXT WEEK – During our Come and See sessions we will be listening and responding to the creation story and the words that God said, 'Indeed it is very good'. Within Literacy, we will be learning our poems for our end of year assembly. We will be creating posters for our Summer fair stall. In Maths, we will be completing activities to recap numbers to 20. During the afternoon, the children will be preparing for our end of year assembly and finishing making the items for our stall. We will also be continuing with our End of year CEM assessments. During our phonics sessions we will be focussing on – Mrs Gill’s and Mrs Hart’s group – continuing with phase 4 and recapping all phase 2 and 3 sounds and words Mrs Riding’s and Mrs Ryan’s group - will be continuing with phase 4 and recapping all the phase 3 and 4 sounds and words Miss Woolley’s group – will recap all phase 3 sounds and words. WEEKLY CHALLENGE – Thank you for homework on our world. This week we are asking the children to learn their words for the assembly over the weekend as we only have one week to practise. Please ensure that the children are using a clear and loud voice when saying their words. LEARNING JOURNEY FILE – Tonight your child has brought home their orange folder containing their end of year Report and RE report, these are yours to keep. There is a parent and child voice sheet for you to fill in and return to school on Monday. Please send all contents of the orange folder back into school on Monday. Your parent interview time is also in the file. If you still do not have a time and wish to make an appointment please do not hesitate to speak to the class teacher who will be able to show you the times available. END OF YEAR ASSEMBLY – Friday 9th July is our End of year Assembly. Everyone is welcome to come. Come to the school hall for 9.10 am to celebrate our memories with us all. SUMMER FAIR –The children have been working very hard to make our items for our stall. Please remember to come and visit the stall and see if you like anything. There will be no names on the items as the children will be making more than one item.
