Friday 4th May Wednesday Word – LOVE Twitter - @saintoswalds THIS WEEK – During our Come and See sessions we have been writing about Pentecost and creating art related to the Holy Spirit. Within Literacy, we have been listening to the story of Giraffes can’t dance and created a story map which we will use next week when retelling the story. The children wrote sentences about Gerald from the story. In Maths, we completed our Post and Pre Learning tasks. During the afternoon, we have created our own pop up jungle pictures. Mr Cohen has also been into school to work with the children and teach them about the Jewish faith. During our phonics sessions we have focussed on Mrs Gill’s and Mrs Hart’s groups – have been introduced to er and ear and have recapped all phase 3 words Mrs Riding’s group – have been introduced er and ear and the words – come and some. In Maths, we will be starting our new topic of counting in 2’s and solving problems when ordering numbers. During the afternoon, we will be continuing to make our models of animals following our designs. If you have misplaced your letter please see the class teacher who will be happy to provide you with another one. EMPTY BOXES AND POTS – We are running low on our found materials. Please could you send in any empty boxes, yoghurt pots, bottle tops, egg boxes etc so that the children can continue to make their models. SEE SAW – Thank you to parents who have already made comments on their child’s profiles. Please continue to add observations of your children that you see happening at home.
