Lomeshaye Life Our second week of the term has been busy in school. Lots of new learning has started and pupils are working hard, with several classes looking forward to visits from their friends at Park Primary School this term. Read on to share some of our great news this week. This week our attendance is 94% for the whole school. This is slightly below our target, but completely understandable due to the high numbers of pupil illness over the last 2 weeks. Please do you best to get your children back to school as soon as they are well enough to help us to meet our target of 96%. Choir before Christmas— Just before we broke up for the Christmas holiday, our wonderful school choir went to spread some festive cheer by singing and helping shoppers to pack their bags at Morrison’s in Nelson. They spent just over an hour singing and helping out at the check-out, raising an amazing £166 which the children have chosen to send to a national children’s charity. Great job to all those that took part and of course our wonderfully dedicated music teacher, Mrs. Brunton.
Faith, Music and Community— why not take part in this wonderful community event that has been organised by Building Bridges in Nelson. An afternoon of music from different cultures and religions at Brierfield Community centre on Colne Road, Brierfield on Sunday 28th January.
