Thank you for all your support. Year 4, 5 and 6 Christmas Performance A massive well done to all the pupils and staff in year 4, 5 and 6 for the fantastic performances last week! They added some glitter to the traditional Christmas story and counted down the hits to see who was top of the festive pop charts! There was a bit of Motown with ‘Gabriel’s Soul Patrol’, while glam-rock shepherds, ‘The Crooks’, brought the beat to Bethlehem. Also contenders for the top spot were boyband trio ‘The Wise Guys’, bickering folk-punks ‘The Landlords’, 60’s pop icons ‘Don Kee & The Animals’ and the brassy ‘Herod & The King’s Swingers’! Thank you to all the parents for supporting the performances.

www.bishopmartin.lancs.sch.uk As we come to the end of a long but busy term we have been reflecting on all the hard work and achievements of our wonderful children. Their many talents were showcased perfectly, I am sure you will agree in the fabulous Christmas performances. Behaviour throughout the school this term has been amazingly good and the naughty elves sent by Santa have learnt so much from Bishop Martin children about the right way to behave. On the last morning of term we always have a very special Carol and Crib assembly in school, which we celebrate the end of our Posada journey and the birth of a special baby. This year we combined it with a fond farewell to Miss Malins as she leaves us for pastures new. We will however be welcoming back Miss Doncaster for the first two weeks in January as she is teaching Y3 Giraffes while Mr Dawe takes his paternity leave following the birth of his own special baby: Joseph Arthur Sergio Dawe made his first appearance on Monday 18th December. Mother and baby are doing fine, Daddy looks exhausted! I am sure you join us in wishing Mr Dawe and his family many congratulations. Finally on behalf of myself and all the staff at Bishop Martin we wish you a very Happy and joyful Christmas.

On Thursday afternoon a group of children and staff went to Beechwood Court to sing to the residents. The children sang beautifully some of the songs from the Christmas Performances and some traditional carols. During the refreshments afterwards the children talked to the residents who were all very impressed with our children and praised them for their excellent singing and behaviour. They were delighted by how much the children enjoyed singing all the songs.
