CHRISTMAS CONCERTS Well done to classes 1G, 1K, 2, 3, 10 and 11 for their excellent Christmas Concert items this week. We are sure you were very proud of their performances as we were. Each child made a valuable contribution. Thank you for your support, attendance, costume making and donations. Thank you very much for your donations. We have raised £496.14 for the school fund. We will use this money to benefit the pupils. FATHER CHRISTMAS - Classes 1G and 1K enjoyed a very special visit to see Father Christmas this week. They were all given a lovely present by the man himself! BAUBLES - the Christmas tree is up – the children can bring their baubles for Mrs Carter to hang on the tree. Thank you for the baubles that have been sent in to date. There are some wonderful creations! MASS - The children and staff will be taking part in a Mass for Mrs Carter on Wednesday 20 th December to celebrate the long and dedicated service she has given to St Oswald’s. CAROLS AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE - all families, past and present, are invited to join Mrs Carter for mulled wine, mince pies and carols around the Christmas tree at 2.30pm on Wednesday 20th December to mark her retirement from St Oswald’s after 34 years. CHRISTMAS DINNER - was enjoyed by the pupils on Thursday – they looked splendid and very festive in their Christmas jumpers and raised a magnificent £177.41 for Cancer Research. Thank you for your generosity. WIGAN AND LEIGH HOSPICE - We are still selling Christmas toys on behalf of the Hospice. The toys are £2 each. CHRISTMAS DISCOS - tickets are on sale for the final Christmas disco which will be on Monday 18th December 4.30 – 6.00pm for Y5 and Y6 pupils. Tickets cost £3 and include a hot dog and a drink. There will be a tuck shop at the disco. ST. EDMUND ARROWSMITH PTA - are raffling a luxury Christmas hamper. Tickets are available from St. Edmund Arrowsmith school office and cost £1 each or £5 for a book.
