CHRISTMAS CONCERTS – Well done to classes 4,5,6,7, 8 and 9 for their excellent Christmas Concert items. We are sure you were very proud of their performances as we were. BAUBLES - the Christmas tree is up – the children can bring their baubles for Mrs Carter to hang on the tree. Thank you for the baubles that have been sent in to date. CAROLS AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE - all families, past and present, are invited to join Mrs Carter for mulled wine, mince pies and carols around the Christmas tree at 2.30pm on Wednesday 20th December to mark her retirement from St Oswald’s after 34 years. CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY ON THURSDAY 14TH DECEMBER - the pupils can come to school wearing a Christmas jumper instead of their school jumper and bring a donation to Cancer Research UK. This is also Christmas dinner day! MISS GORMAN - leaves us today to take up a new teaching post in a school in Warrington. We wish her well. COUNCIL AVENUE - we have had another ‘near miss’ reported to us this week involving a car turning out of Council Avenue and a child from our school crossing the road with their parent. Can we once again ask parents to park at the market and walk the short distance to school rather than driving onto Council Avenue unless they are a Blue Badge holder. MEDICATION - Please ensure that any medication is brought into the school office and the appropriate paperwork is filled out. WIGAN AND LEIGH HOSPICE - We are still selling Christmas toys on behalf of the Hospice. The toys are £2 each. CHRISTMAS DISCOS - tickets are now on sale for the Christmas discos which will be on the following dates: Years 3 and 4 Monday - 11th December 4.30 – 6.00pm. Years 5 and 6 Monday - 18th December 4.30 – 6.00pm. Tickets cost £3 and include a hot dog and a drink. .There will be a tuck shop at each disco. ST EDMUND ARROWSMITH PTA - are raffling a luxury Christmas hamper. Tickets are available from St. Edmund Arrowsmith school office and cost £1 each or £5 for a book.
