ASHTON CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON - our school choir supported this event by singing at the switch on. Thank you to all the pupils and families who attended. SING ALONG BINGO - the senior citizens of our Parish enjoyed an afternoon of Christmas carols and Bingo this afternoon. They were serenaded by the school choir and won prizes of food and soap hampers. Y6 MATHS - Congratulations to Jacob King-Williams, Rose McConnell, Caitlin Harrison and Lucy Haigh who represented the school brilliantly at St. Edmund Arrowsmith in a maths competition against other schools. They enjoyed working with past pupils and conducted themselves really well. VOLLEYBALL - Caitlin Harrison, Lucy Haigh, Lydia Swindell, Alexis Aaron, Harry Ewing, Sam Lloyd and Ben Trueman took part in a Volleyball competition at St. Edmund Arrowsmith on Wednesday night. They all played extremely well and won 4 out of the 5 games. They are looking forward to representing our school at further competitions later in this academic year. BAUBLES - the Christmas tree is up – the children can bring their baubles for Mrs Carter to hang on the tree. Thank you for the baubles that have been sent in to date. MEDICATION - Please ensure that any medication is brought into the school office and the appropriate paperwork is filled out. WIGAN AND LEIGH HOSPICE - We are selling Christmas toys on behalf of the Hospice. The toys are £2 each. This year there is a snowman, Father Christmas, penguin and Gingerbread man. DATES FOR YOUR DIARY - tickets are now on sale for the Christmas discos which will be on the following dates: Years 1 and 2 Monday 4th December 4.30-5.30 pm. Years 3 and 4 Monday 11th December 4.30-6.00pm. Years 5 and 6 Monday 18th December 4.30-6.00pm. Tickets cost £3 and include a hot dog and a drink. There will be a tuck shop at each disco. ST EDMUND ARROWSMITH PTA - are raffling a luxury Christmas hamper. Tickets are available from St. Edmund Arrowsmith school office and cost £1 each or £5 for a book.
