Y6 Farm to Fork Trip

Thursday

Last Friday, Year 6 ventured to Tescos Extra in Wigan to learn about where their food comes from. They spent an hour at the fish counter, tasting different fish, holding fish and finding out where various fish comes from. More time was spent here than originally planned due to the children's questions and enthusiasm. Kelly-May commented, "I didn't know that learning about fish would be so interesting." Following this, Year 6 went behind the scenes at the bakery and the warehouse fridges and freezers before enjoying just-baked, warm, triple-chocolate cookies! Last of all, the children were given the opportunity to decorate a pizza slice, choosing healthy toppings. As always, our Year 6 Lions represented Bishop Martin fantastically and impressed the Tesco staff. They are truly a wonderful example of how Bishop Martin children behave.
