UPDATE 8

10TH NOVEMBER 2017

St. John’s RC Primary School WEEKLY UPDATE DATES FOR YOUR DIARY NOVEMBER 14th - (2.45pm ) Nursery meeting for those starting in January

(Infant Hall)

AN ‘EGGS-CITING’ WEEK! The children in Year 5 have had a ‘smashing’ time this week! They have hosted some very special guests - 10 eggs were delivered and by Thursday all the eggs had hatched into wonderful little chicks. All the children in school have had a chance to hold the chicks and play with them and we’ve had lots of Science lessons learning about them. Luca told me, ‘The chicks are very cute and fluffy and make a real racket! We’ve learned about life-cycles and how to care for them. They are so playful!’

15th - (1-2pm) Children in Need rehearsal (MOSI) 17th - Children in Need Day (Crazy socks!) 18th - (10am) Reconciliation for Y3EB/JW (church)

The Year 2 children really did have a great time finding out about life for men and women before the First World War, what life was like in the trenches and what life was like for those left at home. They learned a lot through drama activities during their session with the Freshwater Theatre Company .

20th - Digitalkids show at Event City (all day) Digital leaders

On Friday our choir will be joining with other schools to perform on the television in the Children in Need choir. They will be popping up during the programme on BBC 1 from 7.30pm. In school during the day, we have asked the children to go wild with their feet we would like them to celebrate Children in Need day by wearing the craziest socks, tights, combinations of odd socks and brightly coloured socks to show support for the cause. They can also wear any Children in Need merchandise if they have it. There will be collecting tins on the playground before and after school if you would like to donate to the cause. (Children still need to wear uniform on this day) If you would like to see what other fabulous things going on in our school please head over to the blog or join us on Twitter at @st_Johns_RC. Thank you for your continuing support,

Mrs B.O’Donoghue
