NEWSLETTER WEEK ENDING 10th November 2017 CLASS 4 ASSEMBLY - this will take place on Friday 17th November at 9.10am in the school hall. All family and friends are welcome. REMEMBRANCE ASSEMBLY - all the pupils took part in an assembly today and the 2 minutes silence at 11.00am. Children from Classes 9 and 10 lead the assembly. It was a reflective and respectful time for the children and staff. AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS - all clubs are running as usual. PUNCTUALITY - school opens at 8.50am for pupils and lessons start at 9.00am prompt. Please ensure your child is at school on time so that they do not miss the beginning of lessons. SHOE BOXES - are being collected on Wednesday afternoon 15 th November. Thank you to everyone who has brought a box. The children watched a film in assembly last Monday of our boxes being distributed last year and the immense happiness they gave to the children who received them. BASKETBALL - our Y5 pupils played in a competition on Monday night. They played 3 games, won 1 and lost 2. Well done to Matthew Atherton, Scott Veivers, Jamie O’Shaughnessy, Thomas Earley, Luke Sutton, Matthew Pooke, Libby Rutherford and Charlotte Ashcroft. Y1/Y2 MATHS WORKSHOP - Thank you to all the parents who attended. If parents who could not attend would like a copy of the handouts please see your child’s classteacher. The powerpoint will be uploaded to the school website. CHILDREN IN NEED - is on Friday 17th November. The theme is ‘SPOTACULAR.’ Children can come dressed in anything spotty - anything goes! Please bring a donation and any old round pounds that we can also donate. Thank you. COLD WEATHER - please ensure that all hats, scarves and gloves are labelled with your child’s name. CLASS 10 CLASS MASS - is on Wednesday 15th November at 9.15am at Church. Family and friends are all welcome. FOR THE SENIOR CITIZENS OF THE PARISH - We are still collecting tinned or packet food items for our hampers. We are appealing for any soap items for hampers also. COUNCIL AVENUE - despite numerous appeals we are still experiencing a large number of cars being driven onto Council Avenue. We remain extremely concerned that there will be an accident. We continue to voice our concerns to the appropriate authorities.
