Focus of Support  Professional sports coaches delivering PE sessions and after school clubs to Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2  Swimming Lessons for Year 3 – 10 week block.  Zumbini – Reception Class  Inter School Sports  Enrichment afternoon resources for physical activities – Whole School new initiative for 2016/17  Curriculum Resources – to implement the Bolton Primary PE Scheme of Work Focus of Support – Subsidised Residential Visits (in school time) for Years 5 & 6  Y5 field trip visit to Grasmere cost subsidised.  Y6 team building outdoor activity residential cost subsidised.

Focus of Support – Subsidised School Trips  Subsidise physical activity trips for all children to keep costs affordable for parents and to enable children to gain access to challenging experiences.

Impact Through funding from the PE and Sport Grant, school is able to offer a wide range of sporting experiences, which are carefully chosen and intended to make a difference and shape children’s lives for the future.

Our school sports teams enjoy a good level of success in competitions and we have seen an increase in participation in sporting activities because of the opportunities we are able to offer.  Sport and Active Living SLA – Professional Sports Coaches delivering lessons across school, providing children with new experiences in a wide range of sports. Staff CPD through observation of lessons and partnership in curricular lessons. Full access to the Sport and Active Living Scheme of Work. Extra-Curricular Clubs, at no cost to parents, providing opportunity for experiences which may not have been readily available. Entry in competitions to develop children’s self-esteem and confidence.  Swimming Lessons – Year 3 children are taught to swim, learn survival skills and gain confidence in the water. This is a grounding for the curriculum swimming lessons children receive in Year 6.  Zumbini – Reception Class. This programme enables children to gain experiences in 3 Early Years Goals (Expressive Arts and Design, Personal, Social and Emotional Development and Physical Development)  Purchase of Yoga mats for Enrichment Afternoons – introduction of a multi-age activity – Yoga Pretzels - to be offered to the whole school. Children sign up on a half termly basis and take part in a variety of activities on offer, which last 6/7 weeks of the half term.

They then sign up to a different activity for the next half term, ensuring a wide range of enrichment in a variety of life skills. Yoga Pretzels is all about teaching mindfulness, reflection and meditation for better wellbeing. This resource will also be used during PE lessons.  Purchase of equipment to support the activities on offer.  Subsidy of Residentials and trips in school time – helping parents afford for their child to take part in exciting physical activities that they would not normally be able to access.
