Instrumental Lessons – free at BRGS It is vital that you attend weekly instrumental lessons and we are fortunate to have a team of highly experienced instrumental teachers in school.

A-Level students can access a free 20-minute lesson in school if they attend extracurricular activities and meet the terms and conditions of the Instrumental Scheme.

The terms and conditions are as follows: To access free lessons:  Students must attend weekly extra-curricular rehearsals in a relevant music group / ensemble  Students are responsible for checking the timetable regularly for their lesson time.  If a student needs to change the time of a lesson (e.g. because of a dental appointment, then notice must be given to the Head of Music, in writing, 48 hours in advance.  If students are on a school trip which clashes with a lesson, the student is responsible for notifying the Head of Music, in writing, 48 hours in advance.  If a student misses two lessons or extra-curricular rehearsals per term without giving prior notice, free lessons will be withdrawn.  Missed lessons will be charged at a rate of £8.50 per lesson.

Instrumental Lessons – Additional Lessons However to meet the requirements of the course, you should also consider purchasing a further 20-minute lesson. This is so that you can have more time with your teacher to work on the finer details of performance.

Lessons are available at a cost of £115 per term. This will cover the cost of approximately 11-13 lessons per term (approx. £8.50 per lesson).
