St. John’s RC Primary School WEEKLY UPDATE DATES FOR YOUR DIARY OCTOBER 9th (6-7.30pm) Disco for all Year 6 children to celebrate Spanish exchange
HOLA! We welcomed our friends from Nigran last Tuesday. They’ve had a fabulous week and our host families have provided a very warm welcome. On Wednesday, they had a tour around each class meeting our children and teaching them about Spain. On Thursday they went on a walking tour of Manchester and explored the John Rylands library. On Friday the whole of Year 6 took them cycling to Longford Stadium and last night we had a grand day out in Blackpool! Thank you so much to all the families that have made such a great effort when hosting and also to the staff that have made sure the trip has been so much fun and has gone so smoothly. It takes a lot of work, time and energy but it’s a wonderful experience for our children. Year 4 presented an assembly about Oscar Romero on Friday. They spoke so clearly and had learned their parts so well. They sang a song about their mission and reminded us that, in life, it is important to aspire not to have more but to be more. Well done Year 4! We’re looking forward to seeing you at the ‘Meet the Teacher’ this coming Thursday. The school will be open from 4-7pm where you can look at your child’s books and classroom and have an informal chat with your child’s teacher. Thanks you for your continuing support, Mrs B.
