"I'm a Year 6 Get Me Out of Here” Last week Lions immersed themselves in their theme, "I'm a Year 6 Get Me Out of Here” by taking part in a series of Bush Tucker Trials. Y6 worked in two teams in the race to gain the most stars. The class' teamwork and encouragement for one another was fantastic!

Y6 Residential to Kingswood Our Lions were fantastic ambassadors for Bishop Martin. Their spirits were high and they tackled every challenge with utter confidence despite initial fears. On Wednesday, Y6 tackled indoor initiatives and Trail of Mystery and impressed the staff with their problem solving abilities. I think it is fair to say that the children had a good laugh at Mr McDonald, Miss McKnight and myself as we role played characters in the Trail of Mystery. The sun was shining out for us on Thursday morning and after a big breakfast, we headed up into the woods for problem solving and climbing. The class worked together to support each other as they took to the heights of the climbing wall. After lunch, was the most anticipated activity - raft building. I don't think any of us realised just how cold the water would be but it did not stop us from getting in on our rafts and finally jumping in. In the evening we made our way through the outdoor caves and tried our luck at creating rocket ships out of every day materials. When Friday morning came, we had mixed feelings. We had all had such a fantastic time and didn't want to leave yet we were looking forward to seeing our families and telling them about all our exciting activities. After another big breakfast we had our last two activities - Frisbee golf and bouldering. We thoroughly enjoyed these activities and thought it was a great way to round off the trip! Despite the two and a half hour delay of the coach, the children kept each other entertained by singing songs and playing games they had learnt on the residential. Year 6 Lions were an absolute credit to us all and we were so proud with how they managed with the delay.
