St. John’s RC Primary School Weekly Update DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
A ‘WHEELIE’ GOOD WEEK! St John's Year of Cycling got off to a really good start on Wednesday with children from Nursery through to Y4 experiencing a short circuit to test their confidence and skills. British Cycling commented on the high level skill of our children and they said they’re looking forwards to their return to St John's on Wednesday to see the Y5 and Y6 classes in action. The PTA are hosting a coffee morning this coming Friday to launch our year of cycling. Come and discover all about the activities planned.
OCTOBER 3rd - Spanish exchange children arrive (approx 8.15pm) 4th - All children can wear white and blue to welcome our Galician visitors
I have spent a lot of this week watching lessons in classes throughout the school. The children are a real credit to themselves and their teachers. I saw children who are really enthusiastic about their learning and behaviour that showed how engaged they are. You should be very proud of them.
5th - Trip into Manchester for Spanish children and host families
Our second group of year 3 children have visited the Marist this week. The children enjoyed the session and we received great feedback about the children’s behaviour, manners and thoughtful responses.
6th - (9am) PTA coffee morning
The School Council met for the first time today and elected a chair, treasurer and secretary. Next week they are going to consult with their classes in a ‘class council’ and then write their action plan. They are also going to be working towards the ‘Investors in Pupils’ award.
5th - (6-8pm) Loreto High School open evening.
6th - All Year 6 children and Spanish children to go to Trafford Wheelers & picnic in the park 6th - (3pm) Year 4 assembly - parents & carers welcome 11th - (8-8.30am & 3.30-5pm) Year 3 drop in Junior Hall
