Lomeshaye Life We are at the end of another busy week in school. This week has seen some interesting learning taking place across school and some fantastic fund-raising activities too. Read on to find out more. European Day of Languages—On Tuesday this week it was the European Day of Languages. This is a very special day all over Europe where people celebrate the different languages spoken in different countries. Children worked with our French teacher, Mrs. Donworth, to learn about lots of different languages, they even learnt how to say “hello” and “goodbye” in 12 new languages! Coffee and Cake for Macmillan— Thank you to all of those that contributed cakes to our sale in school on Friday.

The children thoroughly enjoyed being able to have a sweet treat at break time and the afternoon coffee and cake session for parents arranged by Mrs. Safdar was wonderful. The proceeds of this event will all go to the amazing Macmillan cancer care charity who many of you may have personal experience of being supported by with your own families. The nurses, staff and wonderful volunteers at Macmillan do a fantastic job from the point that a person is diagnosed with cancer, throughout their treatment and beyond and we know that our donation will be used to help many more families in the future. Thank you once again for supporting so generously.

Amazing Attendance—98% whole school attendance this week. We have smashed our target for 3 weeks in a row now. I hope we can keep doing this right up until half term. Congratulations to attendance raffle winners this morning, Alisha Adnan from 6 Elder and Sajawal Ahmad in 3 Oak, both children have won cinema tickets for a movie of their choice. Clitheroe Grammar School—Good luck to all of the Year 6 pupils that are sitting the entrance exam for Clitheroe Grammar School this weekend.
