Lomeshaye Life This has been another great week at Lomeshaye Junior School. Pupils are working well in classes and our attendance is absolutely fantastic—this week the whole school attendance was 99.1%, this is amazing and I hope that it continues for many more weeks too. So what has been happening in school this week? Year 3 Family Friday— Today pupils in Year 3 welcomed their parents and family members to a session where they shared their learning from the last three weeks. The children all performed poems that they have written and showed some of their Science learning about the human skeleton. It was lovely to see so many parents joining us today and also Miss Stott and Mrs. Mason from Whitefield Infant School. High School Visits for Year 5 and 6—This week we have had visits from Marsden Heights Community College and Primet Academy for pupils in Upper Key Stage 2. These visits have been an opportunity for staff and pupils from the high schools to come to talk about what their schools are like and for them to answer any questions that our children want to ask. There will be an open evening for Pendle Vale on 27th September for anyone interested in finding out more about the school for when their child moves on to Year 7. Parent Welcome Meetings— On Tuesday Year 3, 4 and 5 held parent welcome meetings to provide information about the learning that children in these year groups will take part in this year. The sessions were well attended and we hope that you found the information useful. There will be one more session for anyone that missed theirs . This catch up session will be at 3.30pm on Monday 25th September, if you are more than 5 minutes late you will not be allowed in.

Polite Request—If you are a parent with children at Whitefield Infant School please can we ask that you keep good control of your children when you arrive at hometime to collect children from Lomeshaye. Do not allow your children to play or climb in the bike shelter where they can get hurt or damage other people’s property. Similarly do not allow your children into the adventure play area as they are not safe there. The school gates will now only open from 3.05pm

Monday 25th—Parent Meeting Year 3,4 and 5 @ 3.30pm Tuesday 26th—International Day of Languages Thursday 28th—National Poetry Day Friday 29th— Attendance Raffle at 9am Non Uniform Day
