Home School Agreement

Home – School Agreement September 2017 At St Stephen's we want to ensure that your child succeeds at school and enjoys their learning.

It is important that we all work together and take our responsibilities seriously.

This agreement sets out the expectations of everyone in a three way partnership of school staff, parents and pupils.

School The school will:  Provide a safe, high quality learning environment and a curriculum which inspires, challenges and motivates, giving every child the opportunity to achieve  Celebrate your child’s academic and personal achievements.  Enable children to become responsible, independent, well behaved and happy individuals equipped to make positive contributions to society  Develop in children a strong sense of Christian values and an understanding of respect and tolerance for other’s culture, race, feelings, beliefs and values  Provide information and support to enable you to help your child with homework tasks.  Organise Parents’ Evenings and provide reports to inform you of your child’s progress  Contact you if we have any concerns about your child’s attendance, work or behaviour  Provide information to parents in a variety of ways, including a weekly newsletter, class blogs, texting service and via the website  Be open and welcoming at all times and offer opportunities for parents to become involved in the life of the school

Parents / Carers I / We will:  Ensure my child attends school regularly, avoid taking my child away on holiday during term time and notify the School Office of any absence the same day  Ensure my child arrives by 8:45am prepared to start their lessons and is collected on time at the end of school  Ensure my child wears the agreed school uniform as outlined in the Uniform Policy and has a full PE kit in school  Attend Parents’ Evenings, Curriculum Workshops and discussions about my child’s progress.  Support my child in all aspects of HOMEWORK (including the completion and return of Busy Books and handwriting sheets in Reception, reading at home on a regular basis and the learning of spellings and times tables).  Work with the school to encourage my child to behave well, supporting the school’s approach to Behaviour and Discipline  Share information with the school which may affect my child’s ability to learn effectively and raise any concerns immediately  Ensure my child uses the internet and AGE APPROPRIATE social media sites in a responsible and appropriate manner.  Ensure I read and respond to any information sent home by the school.

Child I will:  Work as hard as possible and always try my best  Follow adults’ instructions straight away  Be polite, respectful, kind and well-mannered to everyone  Follow St Stephen’s rules for good behaviour  Complete my HOMEWORK and hand it in on time  Take good care of equipment, the building and the school grounds
