WELCOME BACK! It’s been a wonderful first week back at St. John’s with the children full of smiles and stories of their Summer holidays. I have spent lots of time this week meeting the children, learning names and visiting them in class. I have been very impressed with their enthusiasm and the respect they show for each other. I think the coming year is going to be a really good one! The variety of fantastic opportunities our children have each and every day at St. John’s is superb and this weekly newsletter will bring you all the information on the exciting activities that the children are enjoying. All of the teachers have been getting to know the children in their class this week. They have also been assessing their reading level so that they can give out the correct level books for children to take home. As soon as this is done, your child will come home with a reading book and reading record. It’s been great meeting so many parents on the playground in the mornings over the last few days and if I haven’t met you yet, please do come and introduce yourselves. If you would like a more private appointment I am also available after school and (for those parents collecting from aftercare) Mrs Dutton has an appointment book where you can book to see me when you pick up.
12th - Year 3 &4 swimming lessons begin. Please bring costume/trunks, towel and swimming hat. 13th - Roald Dahl Day - KS1 wear anything yellow to celebrate. 24th (1-3pm) - PTA Fair school grounds. All welcome! 25th (2pm) - Loreto Roadshow 28th - Year 3GON visit to Marist
