Monday 5th June 2017 Our News! Welcome back after the half-term holiday! Today the children were all very excited to share their news with us and have shown great confidence when writing all about it. The children all enjoyed their first Fun Friday afternoon and the activities that they chose. These activities will continue for the rest of the summer term. The children have chosen their sports’ day races and now we need to keep our fingers crossed for better weather! We have enjoyed reading lots of different versions of the Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Three Little Pigs stories. The children now know the stories so well that they can retell the stories in their own words and lots have them have enjoyed writing their own stories too. In Mathematics the children have been recapping over the 2D and 3D shapes and their properties. They have used 3D shapes to construct homes for the three little pigs and investigated which 3D shapes can roll, slide or do both. They have enjoyed investigating which objects can be moved by huffing and puffing like the Big, Bad Wolf and finding out which material makes the best waterproof roof for a house for the three little pigs. In the creative area the children have had lots of fun exploring blowing runny paint with straws to create their own ‘huff and puff’ pictures. The children have enjoyed a visit from the school nurse to talk to them about being safe in the sun. They were brilliant at listening and answered lots of questions. Well done!
