Lomeshaye Life What an exciting and thoroughly wonderful week we have had at Lomeshaye. We stared with testing in Maths then welcomed a special OFSTED visitor on Wednesday and rounded off the week with an awesome “Are You Smarter Than a 10 Year Old” inter-school contest. Read on to find out more about it... Maths Assessments—Pupils in years 3,4 and 5 have all had Maths tests to complete this week to assess how much progress they have made over the half term. Each child will receive a special mentoring session next week to discuss their targets for next half term. Please check your child’s journal and have a chat about their targets next week to find out how you can help them at home. OFSTED—As you are aware we were visited by an OFSTED inspector on Wednesday 17th May. We had a wonderful day and are very pleased with the outcome of the inspection. The children and staff really helped the inspector to see what a great school Lomeshaye is. We will receive a letter in approximately three weeks time which will be sent to all parents and be published on our school website. Are you Smarter Than a 10 Year Old? - Today saw the final part in our contest Are You Smarter Than a 10 Year Old? Pupils from Lomeshaye went up against those from local schools—Bradley and Heasandford in an attempt to become the inter-school champion. The children faced challenging questions on all aspects of the school curriculum and everyone did themselves and their schools proud. Thank you to Miss Shaw and Mr. Lawless for a great afternoon of quizzing. WARNING FAKE UNIFORM!!! We are aware that a local business is selling copies of our school uniform. Please be aware that these uniform items are not the best that you can buy. The quality of the material used is POOR and FADES EASILY. Not only this, the logo printed on the jumper, cardigan and polo shirt has the WRONG SPELLING of our school name. If that wasn’t bad enough, these uniforms are in fact MORE EXPENSIVE than the ones sold in school. Don’t waste you money on poor quality imitations. Get the real uniform at a good price from the school office.
