John 10:1-10 Today’s Gospel gives us an image of Jesus as someone who hopes that people will come to recognise his voice. Many do not want to hear the truth from Jesus. He was insulted and tortured but he did not retaliate with insults and threats. He put his trust in the Father. In spite of the treatment he received he always refused to give back as he had received. This was Jesus’ way of being human. As Christians we are all called to be fully human like Jesus. Jesus came so that we could “have life and have it to the full”; to share in his way of being human; to speak our truth quietly and insistently, even when the opposition is strong. Jesus wants us to meet meanness with generosity and to have a heart that can see the muddle and conflict in people’s lives. The voice of Jesus forever calls us. It is the voice of the one who loves us with an everlasting love: the Shepard who is willing to die for his sheep.

Lancaster has recently become a ‘City of Sanctuary’ which is wonderful. As a school we have seen this as a fantastic opportunity to become a ‘School of Sanctuary.’ A School of Sanctuary is a school that is committed to being a safe and welcoming place for all, especially those seeking sanctuary. This could be people whose lives were in danger in their own country, who have troubles at home or are just looking for a space of safety. We believe becoming a school of sanctuary embodies our mission statement and fits perfectly with the ethos of our school. We will work as a school family to reach this award, through a range of different activities, visitors in school and assemblies. In July we will invite parents and governors in to school to see our learning and experiences over the term.

ParentPay Thank you for your cooperation in using ParentPay to pre book places for Breakfast/Afterschool Club. We are now working on reducing the £6612 of debt without more building up.

If your child has below 91% attendance, they are classed as a Persistent absentee and their attendance will be monitored weekly, with concerns passed on to the relevant authority.

Parking We understand that there is limited parking available around the school for drop off times, but please do not park on the social centre car park as this is for permit holders only.
