Why Armfield Academy?

Following a local campaign in Blackpool, Fylde Coast Academy Trust sought the views of the public about the name for our academy.

The survey attracted 446 responses, with over 85% of respondents favouring the name Armfield Academy. This is in recognition of Jimmy Armfield who has given unstinting service to Blackpool in education, welfare and charitable work. Jimmy was a distinguished former pupil of Arnold School and will inspire its pupils to reach our values that he embodies: • Dedication to learning and achieving

“ I feel honoured to have the opportunity to be the first Principal of the Armfield Academy.

Building upon the experience and successes gained in my previous Headships, I am determined to ensure that our school immediately delivers at the highest level and that through high aspirations and expectations, strong discipline underpinned by traditional British values we will achieve excellent outcomes for all our students.
