Commentary on the Progress Made and Evidence Provided Since the Interim Assessment      

Following the interim assessment, the remaining key performance indicators have been evidenced.

The portfolio shows a school which is very reflective and the evidence gathered demonstrates a school which places parental partnership and engagement as a high priority.

The school has a wide range of methods by which it communicates with the parent body.

Technology is used effectively to gather the views of the parents.

St. Anne’s provides many opportunities for parents to develop their own skills.

The school has a very clear vision of how it wants to develop the LPPA in the future.

Strengths Identified In The Review Leadership and Management  The development of the LPPA within school was been extremely thorough and the coordinator has been highly effective in her role.  Effective management has involved all the staff and as a result the whole school community has “ownership” of the LPPA.  The LPPA framework has been used very effectively as a diagnostic tool.  St. Anne’s understands the community it serves and staff at all levels are determined to engage the parents.  Evaluations carried out are effective in driving forward the next phase of parental engagement.  The Governing body is well informed about progress towards the LPPA. Staff  This is a school where parent partnership is a core principle throughout.  The staff are very approachable and have worked hard to gain the trust of the community.

Parents are confident to ask questions and share concerns.  The school is a very welcoming place and is an organised and very effective learning environment.

Parents  The parents feel the school is a welcoming place and feel more confident in attending workshops and events.  Communication with the parent body is a real strength of the school. The parents appreciate how they are kept well informed by the school.  Parents are fully involved in their children’s education and the school has provided many opportunities to enable families to learn and celebrate together Pupils  The pupils are very proud of their school and the pupils interview all had aspirations.  The pupils felt that the school is very supportive and there is always someone to ask if they needed help. They said, “…it’s like a big family where we all trust each other.”

Areas For Development  

Following on from the success of the science workshops, to widen the opportunity for parents to deliver workshops across areas of the curriculum.

To continue to develop the ways in which it communicates with parents as technology evolves.
