Home Learning Suggestions As part of your topic on ‘Inventors and Inventions’, you are required to complete 5 pieces of home learning. You can select any activities from the list below or come up with your own ideas to suggest to your teacher. You can complete more during your free time on Friday afternoon if you wish.

Describe an invention that would be useful to you at home. What would it look like? How would it work?
Create a wordsearch on squared paper. Search for at least 15 words that are associated with the Easter Story. (eg, Calvery, last supper, Jesus etc)
Create a moving paper plate clock with Roman Numerals (Paper plates and split pins available from school)
Find a recipe to make 12 hot cross buns. Using your knowledge of ratio, scale up the ingredients so that each person in your class gets a bun!
Make a ‘pop-up’ toy using whatever materials you want!
Design a way to parachute an egg to the ground. We could test your design in the last week of school by dropping it from the fire escape. The egg must be unbroken! Create an Easter egg/garden/bonnet that represents part of the Easter Story.
Decorate an egg to bring to school to test out your parachute design.
You are the editor of a toy magazine. Create a front page for your magazine to show a new toy that you have been testing. Include features normally found on magazines (title, date, attention grabbers) Work out the perimeter and area of your bedroom. You will need to measure each side. Draw a scale diagram to illustrate this.
Based on the paper automaton made in school, create your own.
Create a collage of the Eiffel Tower using old magazines and catalogues. Be creative!
