Lomeshaye Life Here we are in our penultimate week of the half term. It has been very exciting in school recently with lots of fun learning and new people to meet. Read on to find out more… Year 3 to Park Primary— last week the children in our Year 3 classes made a special visit to Park Primary School in Colne to take part in a joint learning project. On the day the children met with friends that they have made at a previous session and worked together to learn about the traditions of Chinese New Year. They then collaborated to create a fantastic Chinese dragon, which was decorated with Chinese writing and the children made their own dragon dance. To see the wonderful work that they produced take a look in our foyer gallery next time you are in school.
It’s all Greek to me, Year 5—staff and pupils had a fantastic Greek themed day on Thursday to finish off their learning about the Ancient Greeks this half term. The children looked wonderful in their outfits and had a great day celebrating the new skills and knowledge that they now have in History.
Visit from MP Andrew Stephenson— This morning we welcomed MP Andrew Stephenson to school to join our assembly and officially unveil our new school defibrillator. The money raised at our Summer Fair has been used wisely to buy the machine that is now stored in school in case of an emergency, Mr. Stephenson was very impressed with what we have done. Monday 6th February—Young Voices Parent Performance at Marsden Heights—4.30pm. Wednesday 8th February—NSPCC visit on safety. Thursday 9th February—Young Voices at MEN Arena. Friday 10th February—Year 3 Performance, 10.45am
