Parliament news: Parliament would like to thank Miss Blackburn, for her kind donation of a Revoe’s first aquarium, which, MP s have unanimously voted to locate in the dining room for all children to enjoy.

MPs have unanimously voted for school to buy outdoor clothing and PE tracksuits for children to wear during outdoor learning.

MPS debated alternative rewards for our shop to support positive behaviour and attitudes. Well done, MPS.

We have noticed that some children are being provided with packed lunches that only contain crisps, biscuits and sugary drinks. Please provide a packed lunch for your child which is healthy, well balanced and contains, for example; a sandwich, piece of fruit, yoghurt and a drink (no added sugar cordial). Too much sugar in a child’s diet can cause tooth decay, hyperactivity and increase the risk of obesity and diabetes.

This week, in Reception. the children have been planning and designing obstacle courses.

They have been working together and finding out how being active keeps them warm on cold days!

Also we have been trying out our new Dough Area. The children made a list of the resources they would like and we set up our new area, complete with oven, in Mrs Harrison's classroom. This week we have lemon playdough!

Miss Thompson's classroom has also been busy. After some children were role playing storylines about poorly animals, we set up a new vet role play area. This has encouraged lots of language and writing amongst the children.

Year 4 have just launched Singapore maths this week. It is designed to broaden children's understanding of the number system. After the first lesson today it appears to have got a thumbs up from all children.

They especially like their new maths journals. This exciting new way of teaching maths was part funded by the Maths Hub UK.

Headlice Nursery 2 were invited to Revoe Park to help plant some trees. We used the spades to put some soil around the trees and we are looking forward to watching them grow. The park rangers let us try all the lovely wooden structures. It was great fun and we look forward to visiting the Park regularly.

Year 1 had a visit from Poppy this week.

The visit was arranged to help the children to write information text all Brownies and Guides meet every Tuesday (Term about her.
