Course outline There are currently two GCSE courses being followed at present: 1. Current Year 9 and 10 students have begun their study of the AQA GCSE history course. This course offers students the opportunity of studying history within various contexts, namely a period study, a thematic study, a wider world depth study and a British depth study. The course is completed at the end of Year 11. There are two examination papers which incorporate all four topics studied over the three year course. 2. Current year 11 students are following the Edexcel Making of the Modern World GCSE history course. This involves a British depth study, a study in depth of one country, a wider world depth study and a Controlled Assessment. There are three examination papers that focus on the three separate topics studied. There is also Controlled Assessment which is worth 25% of the final grade.
