2nd December 2016 Matthew 3:1-12 The Gospel throughout Advent is a call to conversion. Today’s Gospel focuses on clearing away the “mess” and getting ready for something special to happen. Getting ready for the Lords birth is like getting a house in order for a much-loved visitor, like a grandparent. Through all the work and excitement of tidying up and putting things straight, we are making the gift of welcome, creating a real spirit of Christmas.
